Norwich City FC is based in Norwich, Norfolk. Founded in 1902, one of their early playing fields was Newmarket road. They were forced to abandon that site because of the size of the crowds attending their games. The move to The Nest, an unused chalk pit, resulted in the same circumstances so in 1935 they settled in at Carrow Road where they have played ever since. The Carrow Road stadium was built in just 92 days in 1935.

The team's rivals are Ipswich Town; the two teams have been pitted against each other in the East Anglian Derby an astonishing 138 times. There are fan clubs locally as well as all over the world, from Hong Kong to the United Arab Emirates to Scandinavia and scattered all over the globe. Their fans' song, "On the Ball, City" is the oldest football song still in use today and is thought to have been originally written for Caley's FC in the 1890's.

Paul Lambert has been manager since 2009. After a six year absence, Norwich City will once again play in the Premier League in the 2011-12 season after achieving runner-up status in the 2010-2011 Championship. They are winners of Second Division 3 times, Third Division twice and 2 League Cups.
