Fulham FC Wiki

Fulham is the oldest professional football team in London. Worshipers of the Church of England in West Kensington formed the team in 1879 and they are now playing their 10th season in the Premier League. The church still stands along with a plaque commemorating the founding of the team.

The team plays at Craven Cottage, Fulham, which has been their home since 1896. In 2004 the grounds were refurbished to the tune of £8 million to bring it up to Premier League requirements and its capacity increased to 25,700. Originally a royal hunting lodge, the Cottage sits on the banks of the river Thames.

Fulham FC is managed by Martin Jol, a Dutch football manager and a former midfielder. The management team has only 2 Englishmen, their doctor and their head of sports medicine and exercise science.

Chelsea, a team that only recently began competing in the same league, is Fulham’s main rival while their secondary rivals are QPR and Brentford. Fulham's Home colors are a white shirt with black piping and black shorts. Away colors are red shirts with a horizontal white stripe and black sleeves combined with red shorts.

The team has never managed to win a major honor but have reached two major finals. They were both Second Division and Third Division champions twice.
