Blackburn Rovers Wiki
The Blackburn Rovers were founded in 1875 by two men who had attended Blackburn Grammar School together. Their game was at Church that December between the Rovers, Blackburn and the Church club. They are also known as Rovers, The Riversiders and Blue and Whites. Their current manager is Steve Kean who joined them in December of 2010.
The Rovers call Ewood Park home but their first home ground was a field at Oozehead where cattle grazed when the team wasn’t using it. In 1890 they settled at Ewood Park and have been there ever since.
The Blackburn Rovers have had a fierce rivalry with Preston North End for over a century. In fact, Preston refused a match in 1888 due to the reaction of Blackburn fans, which still tend to be quite enthusiastic.
Rovers' colors are blue and white, although the original jerseys were green and white quarters. Their away colors are red and black.
They were FA Premiership champions in 1994 and Division One Champions in 1911 and 1913. The Rovers won the FA Cup 6 times and Football League Cup once, in 2002. They are the only club the win the FA Cup 3 consecutive times and so are allowed to display the FA Cup emblem on their corner flags during matches.
