Chelsea FC Wiki

Chelsea FC is not based in Chelsea as the name implies but in Fulham. They've spent most of their time in the top tier of English football since their founding in 1905 at the Rising Sun Pub. They were not very successful at first, becoming famous for signing prominent players and entertaining their audience rather than significantly impacting the world of English football.

This changed when Ted Drake became manager in 1952. The team earned their first major trophy due to Drake's modern training regime and team building. They are now managed by Carlo Ancelotti and owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea has played at Stamford Bridge football stadium since the club was founded. The stadium seats nearly 42,000 spectators and fans; they have the 5th highest average attendance in English football. In fact, their average gate for the 2010-2011 season was 41,435 attendees. Their colors are royal blue shirts and shorts with white socks.

The team has no formal rivalries but the fans consider Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United as their top rivals.

Chelsea has won First Division/Premier League four times, Second Division twice, the FA Cup six times and the Football League Cup four times. They've also won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice and the UEFA Super Cup once.
