Udinese Calcio is an Italian football club based in Udine, Fruili-Venezia Giulia. This club was made in 1896 as a part of the Societ� Udinese di Ginnastica e Scherma, (Udinese Society of Gymnastics and Fencing). Throughout its history, this club hasn�t had very remarkable achievements, having its ups and downs. A major decline was seen in the 1960s when they were relegated to Serie B and then to Serie C, where they stayed for fifeteen years. It was only in 1977-78 that thy managed to return to Serie B. Their recent performance has been quite consistent. In 2011 it takes part in the Serie A. In this league, it is the second oldest club, after Genoa C.F.C.

The team�s home colours are black and white, worn in the form of vertical stripes on their shirt. This is worn as they play in their home stadium called Stadio Friuli. The team is known for its nurturing of young talent, proving to be a very good academy. However, the good players of the team are often recruited to richer clubs, which leaves them in a grey area.

Managed by Francesco Guidolin, this team have been given the nicknames Bianconeri, meaning �black-white� and Zebrette, meaning �little zebras� because of their uniform of choice.
