Cesena, or Associazione Calcio Cesena, is based in Cesena, Romagna. This Italian football club was begun in 1940 and won its first promotion to Serie A in 1973. It has been in the Premier League since then for a total of eleven season. It reached its highest ranking, 6th position in Serie A, in 1976. They are nicknamed Cavallucci Marini (Seahorses), the seahorse being the focal point of their badge.
Cesena were Serie C winners 3 times, Coppa Italia Serie C winners once and won Prima Divisione once in 1940-41. They won Serie D in 1959-60 and the Promozione Regionale twice.

The team plays their home matches at Stadio Dino Manuzzi in Cesena, Italy. Formerly named Stadio La Fiorita (1957-82) it seats 23,880. Cesena's home colors are white shirts and socks with black shorts while their away colors are just the opposite. The team's third colors are green shirts with white trim with green shorts and socks.

Manager Marco Giampaolo is a former midfielder who has played for several Serie C teams a Serie B team, Fidelis Andria. An ankle injury cut short his playing career and he began his career in management in 2000.
