Bologna Wiki
Bologna Football Club 1909 is a club based in Bologna, Italy. Their red and blue striped shirts have earned them the nickname rossobli (red-blues) and they are well known as the 6th most successful team in the league. Their home games are played at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, a multi-purpose stadium that seats 38,279. Formed in 1909 by Austrian Emilio Amstein, they played their first game in 1910 against Virtus, emerging victorious with a score of 9-1.
The team were Northern and National League champions in the 1924-25 season but the finals were overshadowed by disruptions by the crowds. By 1928-29 they were building a legacy and were quite well known outside their part of the country. After WWII the club was drifting in and out of the 4th, 5th and 7th positions in the league but finally took the league title back in 1963-64. That was their last Serie A Championship, a total of 7 for the team.
Bologna has been Northern League Champions 7 times, won the Citropa Cup 3 times, the Coppa Italia twice and won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1998. Their manager, Pierpaolo Bisoli, is a former midfielder with 6 years coaching experience and 19 years on the playing field.
