U.S. Lecce (Unione Sportiva Lecce) is an Italian football club from Lecce, Apulia. They currently play the Serie A after accomplishing the title of Serie B champions in 2009-10. Founded in 1908, this club has spent most of its years between Italy�s second division and Serie A. They were promoted for the first time in the latter in 1985. They also proclaimed the title of champions of the Anglo-Italian Semi professional Cup in 1976-77. The home colours of this club are red and yellow, worn as stripes on their uniforms. Their home games are played in the Stadio Via del Mare.

Lecce had many ups and downs in the 2009-10 Serie B campaign, but since then they have held on to first place in November 2009 for the whole season. They suffered a lot of drama in the month of May of that year, being on the verge of a promotion and finally achieving their 8th elevation to the top of the flight in 25 years.

Currently managed by Eusebio Di Francesco, the club has many notable players, such as Javier Chevant�n, one of the all-time top 10 Lecce goalscorers, overcoming former Lecce player Pedro Pablo Pasculli. Lecce players and fans are often referred to as salentini.

Having contributed the most players to the Italian national team, Juventus have won numerous competitions and honours, such as World's Club Team of the Year, the Italian Cup, the UEFA Cup and the Italian League Championship. They have also been ranked 3rd in the All-Time Club World Ranking. After such a long list of successes, Juventus can certainly be considered Italy's most successful club in the 20th century, joining the list of the most successful clubs in the world.
