Sevilla FC Wiki
Sevilla, a professional Spanish football club, plays in the La Liga championship. Founded in October of 1905, it played its first official game in 1908 against Recreativo Huelva. It won the Copa de Sevilla in 1914, its first Seville Cup. Sevilla won their first and only La Liga title in the 1945-46 season.
Sevilla's home colors are white shirts with a horizontal red stripe, white shorts and black socks. Away colors are red shirts with a lighter red horizontal stripe, red shorts and white socks. Third colors are blue shirts with a green horizontal strips, blue shorts and green socks. Home games are played at the 48,500 capacity Ramon Sanchez Pizuan in Seville. Some of their fans call themselves Biris, after Gambian player Alhaji Momodo Jije, whose nickname was Biri-Biri. The Biris are the oldest football fan group in Spain.
In addition to their one La Liga win, Sevilla has won 5 Cope del Rey, one Spanish Super Cup, 2 UEFA Cups and 1 UEFA Super Cup. Sevilla is managed by Marcelino Garcia Toral, a retired attacking midfielder who retired when he was just 26 years old and took up coaching at 33.
