Getafe Wiki
Getafe, based in the city of the same name, is a Spanish La Liga football club. It's been in the top levels since the 2004-2005 season and is owned by the Royal Emirates Group. It was founded in 1946 by five local men and originally named Club Getafe Deportivo.
The team plays at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in Getafe and although its namesake never played for the team or in the stadium he is the most famous footballer the area has produced. Getafe has 18 groups of supporters and fans all over the world. When Getafe achieves an important victory their fans celebrate in the town center.
Rivals are Leganes and Real Madrid as well as Barcelone. Team home colors are blue, away colors are red and their third colors are green. Manager Luis Garcia Plaza is a former central defender who last played with Atletico Madrid.
Getafe was runners-up in the Copa del Ray twice, won the Segunda Division B, Group 1 in 1998-99 and received the Zamora Trophy in 2006-07. They have participated twice in the UEFA Cup and have had 8 seasons in La Liga and 6 seasons in Segunda Division.
