SC Freiburg Wiki
SC Freiburg (Sport-Club Freiburg) is a German association football club from the city of Freiburg im Breisgua, Baden- Württemberg. Since the formation of the club in 1904, they have never had any impressive success stories.
Their greatest success has been reaching the UEFA Cup in 1995 and 2001. Their victories and losses all revolved around the first and second level of the German football hierarchy, which its regular ups and downs. This led to a common chant among their fans in the 1990s which was 'We go down, we go up, we go into the UEFA Cup'.
In recent years, they have managed a position in the 1.Bundesliga, to which they were promoted in 2009.
Volker Finke was the club's manager from 1991 to 2007, which is the longest any manager has served in the history of German football. The club has also lent one of its star goal scorers, Joachim Löw, as a manager to the German national team.
SC Freiburg plays their home games in the stadium Dreisamstadion, which is named after the Dresiam River which flows through Freiburg. In recent times this stadium has come to be known as badenova-Stadion. These games are played wearing their home colours of red, black and white.
