FC Bayern Munich is a German sports club based in Munich, Bavaria, which is most famous for its professional football team. This team is the most successful football team in Germany. They have won twenty two German titles and fifteen cups. The club was formed in 1900 by eleven football players, the leader of which was Franz John. Even though the club rose to success in 1932 by winning its first national championship, it wasn't chosen as one of the competing clubs in the first Bundesliga league in 1963.

The colours of the team are red and white. The crest of the team displays the colours of Bavaria. The home games are played in Allianz Arena since 2005-06. Previously, they were played in the Olympic Stadium of Munich.

The team is currently managed by Jupp Heynckes, who is famous for the reddening of his face whenever under stress. This has also gotten him the nickname Osram, which is now popularly known in German football. The club has achieved great success in the recent years, winning six of the last ten championships. Their latest international title was achieved in 2001, when they won the Intercontinental Cup. They also won their forth European Cup in the same year.
