FC Nurnberg Wiki
FC Nuremberg (FC Nürnberg) is a German professional football club from Nuremberg, Bavaria. It was in 1900 that a bunch of young men gathered together in a local pub, trying to find a way to give football preference over the new English game that had come up recently called Rugby. This was how the club came to be. In recent days the club has moved beyond the singular sport and has integrated boxing, hockey, handball and many more sports into their practice.
FC Nuremberg has had a whirlwind past, rising to the top and then slipping on numerous occasions. They have been relegated from 1. Bundesliga on seven occasions, more than any other German club. The club still has a lot of loyal supporters, who have stuck by it in its troubled times. These supporters are known for their very ironic and grim sense of humour.
The club is famously called Der Club meaning The Club, and their home games are played Frankenstadion since 1963.
Since the earlier times of German football, FC Nuremberg has battled it out with SpVgg Greuther Frth in the national championship. Even today they are their most famous rivals. In Bavaria, their matches are anticipated as one of the biggest events of the year.
