FC Kaiserslautern Wiki
FC Kaiserslautern (Fuball-Club Kaiserslautern) is a German association football club from Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate. The story of this club began in 1900, when Germania 1896 and FC Kaiserslautern joined together to create FC 1900. The club joined FC Palatia and FC Bavaria in 1909 to form FV 1900 Kaiserslautern. It was only in 1932, three years after merging with SV Phnix that the club came to be known what it is called today.
They have fought it out at the top ranking league of Germany, the Bundesliga for many years and have won the league on four occasions. They have sent more than twenty players to the national team, including five that helped West Germany win the 1954 World Cup. West Germany was the underdog in the final game, and played against the largely supported Hungary, whom they beat 3-2. This earned the game the name Miracle of Bern in Germany.
The home colour of this club is red, worn in different shades in the form of stripes on their shirts. This colour has earned them the nickname of Die roten Teufel, meaning the Red Devils. Their home matches are played in the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, which had for long been looked with fear due to the ferocious enthusiasm of their faithful supporters.
