Rennes Wiki

Stade Rennes FC (Stade Rennes Football Club) is a French football club based in Rennes. This club was formed in 1901 under the name of Stade Rennais and is one of the famous clubs in the Brittany region. They compete with Nantes, another famous club in Brittany, in the Derby Breton. Rennes is also one of the founding members of the fist division of French football, the Ligue 1.

They are one of the clubs who participated in the first match of the league in 1932-33 and are still competing in the league. They have, however, never won the Ligue 1. Their greatest achievement in the same was ending in the 4th position and they have achieved this on four occasions. They have also won the Coupe de France title twice.

Their home games are played at the Stade de la Route de Lorient, in the city of Rennes. The colours of the club are red, black and white. They are managed by Frédéric Antonetti, a former football player. Rennes is also well known for its youth academy called the Henri Guérin Training Centre. This is recognized by the French Football Federation as one of the best in the country.
