Lille Wiki

Lille OSC is a French association football club from Lille. Founded in 1944 as a result of a merger between Olympique Lillois and SC Fives, this club currently fights it out at the top tier of French football, the Ligue 1. The club has won three league titles in 1946, 1954 and 2011. They have also acquired the Coupe de France title six times. They join Red Star FC in the record of winning the Coupe de France title in three consecutive seasons. Their most recent win of this title was in 2011, when they beat Paris Saint-Germain FC.

The most successful period of this club was when they were managed by George Berry and André Cheuva, in the period of 1946-1956. The past year has seen them reclaim the title of French champions. They are now managed by Rudy Garcia, a former football player.

The home games of the club are played at Stade Lille-Metropole. They will move to a new location in the coming year. Their home colours are red and blue. They have an old rivalry with RC Lens, who are their southern neighbours. These clubs regularly meet for a battle of football at the Derby du Nord.
